Nifedipine
China [CN] Nifedipine (CAS: 21829-25-4, EINECS: 244-598-3), also known as Adalat and Adalate, is a pale yellow powdery small-molecule calcium channel blocker cardiovascular API with molecular formula C₁₇H₁₈N₂O₆ and molecular weight of 346.33. It melts at 171–175°C, with an estimated boiling point of 481.08°C and density of 1.2109. Classified as BCS Class 2 compound, it is practically insoluble in water (<0.1 g/100 mL at 19.5°C) and soluble in DMSO. Its aqueous solutions are unstable and should be used within one working day, while solid raw material requires refrigerated storage at 2–8°C. Besides serving as core antihypertensive pharmaceutical raw material, it also acts as an antioxidant cosmetic ingredient, widely supplied for cardiovascular drug manufacturing, laboratory testing and cosmetic formulation research.
