Captopril
China [CN] Captopril (CAS: 62571-86-2, EINECS: 263-607-1), also known as Capoten, is a synthetic white to off-white crystalline powder cardiovascular API with molecular formula C₉H₁₅NO₃S and molecular weight of 217.29. It melts at 104–108°C, with predicted boiling point 427.0±40.0°C and estimated density 1.2447. This chiral compound presents negative optical rotation values in ethanol solutions, featuring two dissociation constants pKa 3.7 and 9.8 at 25°C, and is soluble in water at 0.1 g/mL with slightly turbid colorless solution. Classified as BCS Class 3 material, it can be stored at room temperature. As a classic ACE inhibitor small-molecule raw material, it is widely supplied for antihypertensive drug manufacturing, cardiovascular research, biochemical lab testing and pharmaceutical standard preparation.
