Fenofibric acid
China [CN] Fenofibric acid (CAS: 42017-89-0, EINECS: 255-626-9), also known as Fenofibrate Related Compound B complying with USP & EP standards, is a white to off-white powdery pharmaceutical impurity reference substance and small-molecule active metabolite of fenofibrate. It carries molecular formula C₁₇H₁₅ClO₄ with molecular weight 318.75, melting at 177–179°C, featuring predicted boiling point 486.5±35.0°C and density 1.286±0.06 g/cm³. This compound has a predicted pKa value of 3.09±0.10, slightly soluble in chloroform and methanol, and requires cold storage at 2–8°C.
