Piroxicam
China [CN] Piroxicam, also known as Feldene, is a synthetic small-molecule pharmaceutical API with CAS No. 36322-90-4 and EINECS No. 252-974-3. Its molecular formula is C₁₅H₁₃N₃O₄S and molecular weight is 331.35. This product appears as white to pale yellow or light orange solid, melting at 198-200°C, with an estimated density of 1.3664 and refractive index of 1.6320. It is practically insoluble in water, soluble in dichloromethane, slightly soluble in anhydrous ethanol, and also dissolvable in chloroform and ethyl acetate. Its pKa value is 6.3 in 2:1 dioxane-water mixed solvent, with maximum absorption wavelength at 358 nm in water. Classified as BCS Class 2 compound, it requires cold storage at 2-8°C, widely applied as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory small-molecule drug raw material for pharmaceutical production and laboratory research.
