Norfloxacin
China [CN] Norfloxacin, with CAS No.70458-96-7 and EINECS No.274-614-4, is a white to pale yellow crystalline powder pharmaceutical raw material. Its molecular formula is C₁₆H₁₈FN₃O₃ and molecular weight 319.33, with a melting point of 220°C and predicted boiling point 555.8±50.0°C. This quinolone compound is sparingly soluble in water, slightly soluble in 96% ethanol and acetone, and soluble in acetic acid and chloroform. It has two dissociation constants pKa1=6.34 and pKa2=8.75 at 25°C, and presents hygroscopic property. For storage, it should be tightly sealed, kept dry and protected from light under room temperature. It is also known under aliases Zoroxin, MK-0366 and NORFLOXACINUM, widely used for clinical pharmaceutical testing and related API research.
