Meloxicam
China [CN] Meloxicam (CAS: 71125-38-7, EINECS: 615-253-8) is a pale yellow off-white solid selective COX inhibitor API with molecular formula C₁₄H₁₃N₃O₄S₂ and molecular weight 351.4. It has a melting point of 255°C and a predicted density of 1.613±0.06 g/cm³. This compound is practically insoluble in water (0.154 mg/mL) while soluble in DMSO, with enhanced solubility in strong acids and alkalis. Its pKa values vary in different solvent systems: 4.08 in pure water, 4.24±0.01 in water/ethanol (1:1), and 4.63±0.03 in water/ethanol (1:4). Classified as BCS Class 2 & 4, the raw material is chemically stable but incompatible with strong oxidants and requires cold storage at 2-8°C. Also known as Mobic and Meloxicam sodium, it is widely supplied as bulk pharmaceutical raw material for anti-inflammatory small-molecule drug manufacturing and laboratory analysis.
