Dimetridazole
China [CN] Dimetridazole, chemical name 1,2-Dimethyl-5-nitroimidazole, has CAS No.551-92-8 and EINECS No.209-001-2. It is a white to yellowish-green crystalline powder small-molecule antiparasitic API with molecular formula C₅H₇N₃O₂ and molecular weight of 141.13. Its melting point ranges from 177 to 182°C, with an estimated boiling point of 258.15°C and density of 1.3818. This compound has a predicted pKa value of 2.81±0.25, water solubility of 9.69 g/L at 20°C, and dissolves in ethanol up to 50 mg/mL. Chemically stable under proper conditions but incompatible with strong oxidants, it needs to be stored under inert atmosphere at 2–8°C. Also known as Dimetridazole, it is widely supplied as bulk pharmaceutical raw material and lab reference standard for veterinary drug production, forensic medicine and toxicology research.
