Praziquantel, also known as Biltricide and Droncit, has CAS No. 55268-74-1 and EINECS No. 259-559-6, featuring molecular formula C₁₉H₂₄N₂O₂ and molecular weight of 312.41. It exists as crystalline powder recrystallized from ethyl acetate/hexane with melting point of 136–138°C, estimated density 1.1209, refractive index 1.5600 and flash point over 110°C. This product dissolves freely in ethanol and dichloromethane (5 mg/mL solubility in ethanol) while slightly soluble in water, with predicted pKa value of -0.98±0.20 and classified as BCS Class 2. For storage, it must be sealed dry and preserved under -20°C freezer condition, marked with Merck number 13,7802 and BRN 761557. As a core clinical anthelmintic API, it is widely used for clinical testing, veterinary parasitic disease treatment, laboratory standard reagent and pharmaceutical intermediate production.
