Niclosamide
China [CN] Niclosamide, also known as Yomesan, carries CAS No. 50-65-7 and EINECS No. 200-056-8, with molecular formula C₁₃H₈Cl₂N₂O₄ and molecular weight 327.12. It is a pale yellow solid with a melting point of 225–230°C, predicted boiling point 424.5±45.0°C, estimated density 1.6646 and refractive index 1.6200. This product is slightly soluble in water with aqueous solubility of 13.32 mg/L at 25°C, while soluble at 50 mg/mL in 1:1 methanol-acetone mixed solvent, and its predicted pKa value is 7.45±0.43. For storage, it needs to be sealed and kept dry at room temperature, maintaining stability for 2 years from purchase date; its DMSO or ethanol solutions can be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months. Classified as BCS Class 4 anti-parasitic pharmaceutical raw material, it is widely used as anthelmintic API, lab pesticide standard reagent and fine chemical intermediate for parasite treatment research.
