Carbasalate Calcium, also known as Carbasparin Calcium or calcium acetylsalicylate urea complex, has CAS No. 5749-67-7 and EINECS No. 227-273-0, with molecular formula C₁₀H₁₄CaN₂O₅ and molecular weight of 282.31. It appears as white to off-white solid powder, readily soluble in water and DMF while nearly insoluble in acetone and anhydrous methanol. This hygroscopic aspirin derivative is a coordination salt formed by calcium acetylsalicylate and urea, which hydrolyzes in water to release acetylsalicylic acid, delivering antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-platelet effects consistent with aspirin. For storage, it should be kept under inert atmosphere at room temperature to avoid slow hydrolysis. Widely applied in veterinary medicine, it serves as an auxiliary drug to relieve fever and inflammation in livestock and poultry, and assists treatment for avian influenza, renal swelling and other poultry diseases, also available as pharmaceutical raw material and lab analytical reagent.
