Product Overview
Ezetimibe is an oral lipid-lowering drug, belonging to a selective cholesterol absorption inhibitor, widely used in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia with proven efficacy and good safety profile, approved globally for clinical use.
Mechanism of Action
• Specifically inhibits the absorption of cholesterol in the small intestine by blocking the Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1 (NPC1L1) transporter, reducing the entry of dietary and biliary cholesterol into the bloodstream.
• Does not affect the absorption of triglycerides, fat-soluble vitamins or bile acids, and can be used alone or in combination with statins to achieve better lipid-lowering effects.
Indications
Approved Globally: Primary hypercholesterolemia (monotherapy or combined with statins), homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH), homozygous sitosterolemia (phytosterolemia).
