II. Chemical Structure and Characteristics
Structural Analysis: The molecule consists of a 1,3,4-thiadiazole ring (a five-membered heterocyclic ring containing two nitrogen atoms and one sulfur atom), substituted at the 2-position by a bromine atom (-Br).
Ring Stability: The 1,3,4-thiadiazole ring is aromatic. The electronegativity of the sulfur and nitrogen atoms imparts a certain polarity to the ring. The strong electron-withdrawing property of the bromine atom further enhances the ring's electrophilic reactivity. Reaction site: The bromine atom (position 2) is the main reaction site. Due to the strong leaving ability of bromine, it is easy to undergo nucleophilic substitution reaction (SNAr) and be replaced by amino, hydroxyl, alkoxy and other groups.
