Mud Tank Unions

Mud tank union is widely used in pipeline connection which features low pressure, large diameter, large misalignment and frequent installation and dismantlement. It is especially suitable for all the low pressure and large diameter pipelines connection and dismantlement between mud tanks in the drilling solid control system of petroleum industry. Because of the excellent performance of mud tank union, large misalignment has no influence on the pipeline connection and sealing. So mud tank union meets the special requirement of fast installation and dismantlement on the spot. Mud tank union is very important for reducing the workload of workers and shortening well construction cycle and it is the upgraded product of air grip union because it does not need inflation.

Mud tank union is mainly used in the pipeline connection whose pressure is not more than 150 psi. It is designed to take a maximum of 7° misalignment on the pipe. It is composed of three parts: male sub, female sub and seal ring. The seal ring is made from nitrile, and it can provide compressive sealing. Besides, the elongated cross-section of the seal ring is designed to provide greater sealing surface. The popular sizes of mud tank unions are 6", 8", 10" and 12". Mud tank unions of 6", 8" and 10" can be socket welded to pipe or butt welded to tube. And mud tank unions of 12" should be butt welded to pipe.

Features of mud tank union:

• Elongated cross-section of nitrile seal ring provides greater sealing surface.
• Nitrile seal ring supplies compressive sealing.
• It allows up to 7° pipe misalignment.
• Mud tank unions of 4, 6, 8, 10, 14 and 16 inch can be socket welded or butt welded to pipe, and 12 inch union can be butt welded only.

• Media temperature: 0 °C to 80 °C.
• Environment temperature: -40 °C to +50 °C.
• Max sealing pressure (fluid pressure): Pipeline fluid pressure 1.0Mpa.
• Available sizes:4", 6", 8", 10", 12", 14" and 16".
