From the statistical dates over years, China’s machine tool industry has begun to decrease in the second half of 2011 after 10 years’ rapid growth, and the growth slows down. In 2005, 2008 and 2013, China’s numerical control internal grinding machine tool’s production are respectively 58,500 units, 139,700 units and 200,000 units. Numerically, output growth obviously slows down. “From the structure of numerical control machine tool, economy accounts for 85% in 2005 and 20% in 2013. 10 years ago, our industry goal was mid-range growth, but now high-grade is our target. The change of target shows that we have a high level.” Yang Xuetong said.
 
Summarizing the machine tool industry's achievements over the past 10 years, Chen Huiren, executive vice president of China Machine Tool Industry Association, says: “First, the size of  economy grew rapidly until 2009 ranked first in the world, which is a change from small to large. Second, in the high-grade level, the upgrade and crossing of CNC surface grinders products achieved from cannot do to can do basically, which is a progressing from nothing. Third, the comprehensive quality of enterprises promoted generally, and a batch of outstanding enterprises that had preliminary  market competitiveness were springing up, which is a beginning from weak to strong.”
Chen Huiren believes that China’s machine tool industry enterprises are faced with the current status that is obvious decrease of total demand and accelerate upgrade of demand structure. Affected by this, the main indicators of economic operation in China’s machine tool industry is falling down roundly. At the same time, the inherent contradiction of imbalance in the capacity structure of industry is more obvious, the already serious homogenized competition in the market intensifies further.
