Pillow block bearings are mounted plain or roller bearing used to provide support for rotating shaft with the mounting surface on a parallel line with the axis of the shaft. Pillow blocks are usually referred to the housings which have a bearing fitted into them & thus the user need not purchase the bearings separately. Pillow blocks usually mounted in cleaner environments & generally meant for lesser loads of general industry. Pillow block bearings supplied in a variety of configurations. Unlike other bearings however, pillow blocks are pre-engineered to be self-lubricating. They designed with a reservoir to store lubricant, thus they do not need to lubricate consistently in order to operate smoothly. Application: The fundamental application is to primarily mount bearings safely enabling their outer ring to be stationary while allowing rotation of the inner ring.
