Detailed Description
Inconel 617(UNS NO7617) nickel-chromium-cobalt- molybdenum alloy Features and applications overview: Inconel alloy 617 has excellent corrosion resistance in hot corrosion fields such as vulcanizing environment, especially in the environment of cycled oxidation and carbonization at 1100°C. With so excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, this kind of alloy is particularly suitable for high temperature areas. The alloy has good transient and long-term mechanical properties at a high temperature up to 1100°C. This alloy is applied to the industrial and aviation turbine components, air heater, muffle tank, and radiation Museum, high temperature heat exchanger, valves and springs, the high temperature gas cooled nuclear reactors, high temperature components, such as nuclear reactors-helium/helium medium heat exchanger, chemical equipment, petrochemical spiral pipe and pipeline industry. Through solid-solution hardening, the alloy has excellent high-temperature strength. The alloy has no age hardening. The process performance and requirements of Inconel617: The hot working temperature of this alloy is 950 to 1200°C. The cooling method is water quenching or other rapid cooling ways. The materials shall put into when the the furnace's temperature up to the highest. The average size of the grain size of the alloy is closely related to the forging deformation degree and the final forging temperature. The oxides around the alloy's weld are more difficult to remove than those of stainless steel. For removing, both mechanical and chemical methods are favorable. Removing mechanically, the metal pollution and serious surface deformation shall be avoided. Prior to the pickling in a mixed acid of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid, there is a need to remove the oxides with sandpaper or have a salt bath pretreatment. The alloy is suitable for welding, including tungsten electrode arc welding(GTAW/TIG), manual metal arc welding(GMAW/MIG), pulse arc welding and shielding gas arc welding.
