BACKGROUND
• Bharat Wire Ropes Ltd., is one of the leading manufacturers of various kind of Wire Ropes in India. The wire rope business was started under a partnership firm named Bharat Wire Ropes Manufacturing Company, established on 18th November 1969. The business was subsequently transferred to Bharat Wire Ropes Ltd after its incorporation on 24th July 1986 The company/erstwhile partnership firm is in this line of business for over 41 years. The company was owned Shah Family till July 2010 and thereafter the controlling Stake was acquired by Mr. M L Mittal, Mr B K Misha, Mr. Mayank Mittal through Gaji Mercantile Pvt. Ltd

• BWRL is manufacturing wide range of steel wire ropes in diameter ranging from 2 mm to 76 mm in all permutation and combinations of rope constructions. The critical element of wire rope business is enlistment / registration with various Govt. & Semi Govt. organisations, Public Sector undertakings, Large corporate in India and overseas as the product is highly technical oriented. The market of high end customer segment has strict entry barriers due to stringent quality tests and proven past track records. Over a period of time, BWRL has been able to carve a niche for itself by developing various products for critical applications

• The product of the Company are approved by Bureau of Indian Standards, American Bureau of Shipping, Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals, Directorate General of Mines Safety, Directorate General of Shipping, Inspectorate Dock Safety, Directorate General of Quality Assurance (Ministry of Defence), Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (Ministry of Defence), Directorate Industrial Safety & Health, Research Designs & Standards Organisation (Ministry of Railways) and Central Organisation Railway Electrification.

• Some of the large customers of the company are Indian Railways, Ordinance Factories, DGS&D, Port Trusts, ONGC, Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries, BHEL, BEML, Defence Department, Air Force Electricity Boards, Steel manufacturing companies, Bajaj Electricals, KEC, Tata Projects, Reliance Infrastructure, Suzlon, Kone Elevators etc. Besides domestic there is a huge customer base for exports in countries like Sri Lanka, Vietnam, UAE, South Africa, and USA.
