Embossed Soft Enamel lapel pins are, at present, one of the most popular types of custom made lapel pins due to their affordability, versatility and high-perceived value. With fine metal detailing and hundreds of different colors from which to choose in order to customize your lapel pins, embossed soft enamel pins truly offer you the ability to create a fully customized and distinctive lapel pin. You may choose to intentionally leave certain areas of your pin void of color and add sandblasting or other textural effects instead. Another option is to reverse your design so that the text and other details are struck down into raised shiny metal and color-filled. Usually we advise our clients to use raised metal for the text areas on their pins, however with the reverse embossed option, you may recess and color fill your text without worrying about compromising details in your design. Process: Your custom design is die struck into bronze, leaving individual miniature reservoirs for each color that will be used on your lapel pin. Your pin is then electroplated with silver, gold, copper, or any of the many other lapel pin finishes we offer. Each pin is individually hand polished on all three sides. Your design is given multi-faceted detail by the addition of soft enamel coloring into those recessed areas. The enamel is added entirely by hand using multiple sizes of syringes filling each of the cavities ¾ full with enamel color, according to your specifications. Pins are then left to air dry, allowing the enamel to settle slightly. The end result is that the color areas rest below the metal surface, creating an embossed effect which is textural and can be felt when you run your finger across the surface.
