These flutes are among some of the best instruments Yamaha has ever made. While this model is not made any more, it is identical to the curent model YFL-684H. Basically, Yamaha decided that the YFL-581H was too good for what they were selling it for, so they moved it up to the 600 series so they could charge over $3000 for it. These instruments have everything you'd expect from a professional flute. Solid silver head, body, and foot, silver-plated keys with pointed key arms. Open hole, inline G, low B foot, and gizmo key. This instrument includes the custom CY headjoint. Cosmestically, this flute is very nice-there area couple minor surface scratches but nothing serious. Pads and action are very good, and this flute is ready to play as is without a trip to the shop
