The Express Card interface has now been successfully launched in a number of products. With the evolution of the new ExpressCard standard, there is a significant opportunity for products that will adapt ExpressCard format devices to older PCMCIA enabled Legacy laptops that do not have an Express Card port. Description: The Adapter Express to PCMCIA converts the Express Card (USB Electrical) format into a PCMCIA format to enable use of the Express Card in your laptops PCMCIA slot. This design is compact, so only about 5 mm extends beyond the side of the laptop. Unlike some other products on the market, this is an active device that is fully compatible with a wide variety of laptops and ExpressCard devices. Data can be transferred at rates up to the full speed supported by the PCMCIA port in the laptop. The Adapter Express to PCMCIA is easy to set up. It requires no driver, just install the driver associated with the ExpressCard device you are using, insert your ExpressCard into the E2P and insert the combined cards into your notebooks PCMCIA slot. You can insert and remove the combined E2P/ExpressCard into your PCMCIA slot without rebooting. You can also leave the E2P in the laptop and only insert and remove your ExpressCard.
