Black granite is fine in mineral grains. one can hardly identify the crystal grains by the naked eyes. Compared to light-colored grainites, it is harder, less porous and higher compactness, lower water absorption.
The original Absolute Black Granite is known as Swedish Sutareboda which has been quarried for many years. The most famous Swedish black granite is Ebony Black which is very hard and durable, and it's also very expensive.
More recently major quarrying belts are being developed in China and India. In China important suppliers come from Shanxi province and are marketed in several qualities like Mongolian Black, Supreme Black, Nero Assoluto and plainly Shanxi Black. The most dense quality Chinese black granite is known as Shanxi Grade A Black Granite and expect to pay as much as any top quality Indian black or even more. Some varieties of Shanxi Black have small gold points in them and this quality tends to be slightly lower in cost.
Our Daxing Granite factories locate at the Shanxi Province, Datong City, Hunyuan County where exactly Shanxi Grade A Black Granite are mined. Per year worked between February and October to avoid the severe climate at the 2000m elevation. In the last few years the Chinese Black Granite has been becoming very popular due to their much lower prices in the world stone industry. However, great care must be taken when purchasing Chinese Black Granite. Some of these black granites can be prone to “shakes” and “vents” and many unscrupulous dealers oil or apply dye to the material to hide these defects. There is an easy way to test if the black has been doctored. Taking a clean white rag and apply some acetone to the surface of the granite, if any residue or black color is observed on the top which means it has been dyed.
