Appearance: Usually white to off-white crystalline powder or solid (based on the common form of imidazole hydrochloride).

Solubility: Because it contains hydrochloride groups (strong polarity), it is presumed to be easily soluble in polar organic solvents such as water, methanol, and ethanol, and poorly soluble in non-polar solvents (such as ether and petroleum ether).

Stability: It has a certain degree of hygroscopicity and should be avoided from exposure to humid environments; it may be unstable to strong acids and alkalis and direct contact with them should be avoided.
