Physical and chemical properties
Appearance: It is speculated to be a colorless to light yellow liquid or a low melting point solid (similar to thiophene derivatives containing aldehyde groups, such as thiophene-3-carboxaldehyde is a liquid).
Solubility: It may be soluble in common organic solvents (such as ethanol, ether, dichloromethane, etc.). Due to the polar aldehyde group (-CHO), it is partially soluble in water or partially miscible with water.
Stability: Aldehyde groups are easily oxidized (such as oxygen in the air), and may need to be stored away from light and air; the double bond in the dihydrothiophene ring may have certain reactivity and is prone to addition reactions.
Boiling point/melting point: There is no public data yet. It is speculated that the boiling point is relatively high (due to the presence of heterocyclic rings and polar groups), and specific experimental determination is required.
