What is Marigold extract powder?

Marigold extract is extracted from pure marigold flower. Marigold flower belongs tocompositae family Tagetes Erecta L. Main active ingredients are Lutein and Zeaxanthin.

Lutein can only be made by the plant itself and, like other lutein, is usually found in leafy green vegetables such as spinach, kale and marigold. In green plants, lutein regulates light energy and acts as a non-photochemical quencher to treat tri-state chlorophyll (a form of chlorophyll excitation), which is overproduced at very high light levels during photosynthesis. Lutein is also a very important natural yellow pigment in our lives because of its color.
