Detailed Description
Zidebactam (WCK‑5107) is a novel non‑β‑lactam bicyclo‑acyl hydrazide β‑lactam enhancer.
It has a dual mechanism of action:
  • Potently inhibits Class A and C serine β‑lactamases
  • Binds with high affinity to PBP2 in Gram‑negative bacteria, exerting direct antibacterial activity
It is always used in combination with cefepime (marketed as Zaynich® / WCK 5222).
It is indicated for:
  • Complicated urinary tract infections (cUTI)
  • Complicated intra‑abdominal infections
  • Hospital‑acquired and ventilator‑associated bacterial pneumonia
It is supplied as a pharmaceutical API (often as sodium salt) for injectable combination products.
