1. Appearance: White to pale yellow crystalline powder (furanose derivative + aldehyde group, easily oxidized and discolored, the higher the purity, the lighter the color); 2. Solubility: Slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in dichloromethane, tetrahydrofuran, ethyl acetate, and acetone, soluble in methanol, and sparingly soluble in petroleum ether (acetal + aryl group, lipophilicity is better than free xylose); 3. Stability: Stable under sealed, light-protected, and vacuum storage at room temperature; avoid strong acids (acetal deprotection), strong bases (aldehyde condensation), oxidizing agents (aldehyde oxidation to carboxylic acid), and high temperatures (≥80℃ easily causes acetal deprotection); 4. Melting point: Expected 120~140℃ (furan ring + acetal + aryl group, melting point is lower than pyran ring derivatives).
