Primary Use
It is a key intermediate in the preparation of alogliptin benzoate, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor commonly used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, thereby prolonging the action of incretins in the body and steadily lowering blood sugar. In addition, this compound is also frequently used as a reference standard in the study of alogliptin-related impurities for quality control during drug manufacturing.
