Applications
Analytical Chemistry: Can be used to determine iron in urine and blood, as well as for the determination of iron(II) and total iron in the presence of iron(III).
Dye Synthesis: Based on 4,7-dihydroxy-1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dione, several new azo acid dyes can be synthesized for dyeing viscose rayon, wool, and cotton fibers.
