Like other products, electric vehicle charging cables have different standards in different regions, but there are currently three major standards in the market, namely European standard, American standard and national standard. If you want to enter the European and American markets, you must have a certain understanding of their standards. . For the European standard, take EN 50620 as an example; for the American standard, take the latest standard UL2263 as an example; for the national standard, take GB/T 33594 as an example.

1. UL2263 standard

Advantage:

(1) UL2263 mainly has 6 models, namely EVJ EV; EVJE EVE; EVJT EVT

(2) The insulation and sheath are thermoset on EVJ and EV, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) on EVJE and EVE, and thermoplastic (PVC) on EVJT and EVT.

(3) UL2263 has four temperature classes: 60 °C, 75 °C, 90 °C, 105 °C. Compared with the European standard EN50620 and the national standard GBT33594, the temperature resistance is up to 90 degrees, and the American UL2263 standard can reach 105 degrees.

Cons:

There is a lack of evaluation tests for the actual use of cables, such as swing test, liquid resistance test, high and low temperature cycle, damp heat test, tear resistance test, etc.

2. EN 50620 standard

advantage:

(1) The complete performance index of the insulating sheath material.

(2) All products are halogen-free, in line with the concept of new energy green environmental protection.

shortcoming:

(1) The combination of insulation and sheath materials is single, and the selectivity is small.

(2) There is no optional DC charging cable in the product.

(3) Lack of scratch resistance, extrusion resistance, heat and humidity resistance, high and low temperature cycles and other tests.

3. GB/T 33594 standard

Advantage:

(1) The performance of insulating sheath materials and finished products is relatively complete, and the reliability is relatively high.

(2) The material selectivity is stronger.

(3) In line with the national conditions of the Chinese market.

shortcoming:

The high temperature resistance of the material and the entire cable can be improved.
