Detailed Description
Black Silicon Carbide  It is black, crisp and sharp, and has higher thermal and electrical conductivity.  It has the microcosmic shape of hexagonal crystal, Moh's hardness of 9.2, Vickers microhardness of 3,000-3,300kg/mm2, Knoop hardness of 2,670-2,815kg/mm2, and microhardness of 3300kg/mm3, which are higher than those of corundum and only lower than those of diamond, cubic boron nitride and boron carbide in abrasives. Its density is generally recognized as 3.20g/mm3, the natural bulk density of black silicon carbide abrasives is 1.2--1.6g/mm3, and its specific gravity is 3.20~3.25. Black silicon carbide is formed by adding salt (serving as an additive) into petroleum coke and high-quality silica (serving as main raw materials) and melting the mixture in a resistance furnace at a high temperature. The purity, hardness and crispness of black silicon carbide are slightly lower than those of green silicon carbide.  Main application: cutting and grinding of solar silicon wafers, semiconductor silicon wafers and quartz chips, manufacturing of bonded abrasive tools and coated abrasive tools, grinding and polishing of stones, and processing of low-tensile-strength metal and non-metal materials such as gray cast iron, copper, aluminum, stones, leather and rubber.
