Nimonic93 precipitation hardening nickel-based alloy Nimonic93's features and applications overview: This alloy is a precipitation hardened nickel based alloy containing higher amount of cobalt and chromium. It has high strength and good microstructural stability, and has good overall performance below 850°C, This alloy is used for aero-engine turbine blades,small engine turbine disk and fasteners. M23C6 -type carbides was chained on the grain boundaries. MC-type carbides distribute within the grain in the granule-like forms, and no M7C3-type carbides are found. The process performance and requirements of Nimonic93: 1, The plasticity of the alloy during hot working is good. In the temperature of 1050-1150°C, it allows upsetting deformation of 80% but without cracking. The forging cogging temperature is of 1130 to 1150°C, and the final forging temperature of not less than 950°C. 2, The average size of the grain size of the alloy is closely related to the forging deformation degree and the final forging temperature. 3, the plates can be welded using TIG joins. In solution state, the weldability is still good. After welding, it is a must to eliminate the stress and implement aging treatment. 4, The cutting performance of the alloy in the solid solution state is better than in the aging state.
