Detailed Description
Dry Running Design --YTS-1: YongHua's YTS-1 has successfully contained emissions and performed as a safety/backup seal in flashing hydrocarbon services and volatile organic compounds. As a result of its dry- running design, it provides a reliable and economical alternative to dual seals with liquid barrier systems. Dry-Running Design Eliminates Liquid Barrier Systems! Through the use of a specially designed bellows assembly and optimal face materials, the YTS-1 has proven itself through years of continuous service as a reliable dry-running seal, eliminating the need for liquid lubrication! As a result, the following are eliminated: • High initial costs of the barrier tank • High initial costs of related system components • Cost of barrier fluid • Cost of cooling water • Cost of long-term maintenance • Seal failures resulting from barrier system operational problems • Hazardous waste disposal issues of contaminated barrier fluid Simple and Versatile Design The YTS-1 is designed as a self-contained cartridge. When used with a standard YongHua primary seal, the YTS-1 requires less axial space than typical dual seal arrangements. The YTS-1 can be used with either a rotating or a stationary primary seal of a bellows or a pusher design. High Temperature Applications For applications above 204°C (400°F), such as gas oils and heat transfer fluids, the YTS-1 is available in a high temperature design with Grafoil® or Kalrez® packings. In these applications, the YTS-1 will provide an additional level of safety during process or system upsets without the need for liquid lubrication typically used with liquid tandem seals. Low Temperaturere Applications For applications below 204°C (400°F), the YTS-1 will contain any nominal leakage from the primary seal and act as a backup, providing an additional level of safety during process or system upsets. The YTS-1 is an effective solution to meeting emission requirements in flashing hydrocarbon services, such as propane, butane, and ethane, where the specific gravity is less than .600. To maximize emissions containment, it is suggested that the gland cavity be vented to a vapor recovery system as shown in the piping schematic on the back of this brochure. Materials of Construction : Bellows: Inconel 718, Hastelloy®-C or Monel Seal Faces: Carbon stationary vs. Sealide® rotating Packings: Viton® in low temp. design Grafoil or Kalrez in high temp. design Performance Capabilities : Speed: 50 smps/10,000 sfpm Containment pressure: 31 bar/ 450 psig Cavity Pressure: 1 bar/ 15 psig Temperature: 204°C/ 400°F for low temp. 425°C/ 800°F for high temp.
