Product Description: UL2263 is the core safety standard for new energy cables in the United States. Released in 2022, it replaces the electric vehicle cable section of UL62. It is widely applicable to power and signal transmission in new energy vehicle charging systems, charging stations, and energy storage devices. The standard covers six types of cables, categorized by insulation material: thermosets (e.g., EV, EVJ), thermoplastic elastomers (e.g., EVE, EVJE), and thermoplastics (e.g., EVT, EVJT). They are compatible with 300V, 600V, and 1000V AC/DC voltage levels to meet the needs of various power devices.
The cable offers significant technical advantages, with conductors made of high-purity annealed or tinned copper, and wire diameters ranging from 18 AWG to 500 kcmil, ensuring low resistance and efficient transmission. This cable has a temperature resistance rating of 60-105°C, exceeding the 90°C upper limit of the European standard EN50620. It also passes the UL94 V-0 flame retardancy test, ensuring stable operation in humid and oil-resistant environments. Furthermore, this cable complies with RoHS environmental requirements and offers both flex resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, providing key assurance for the safe and efficient operation of new energy equipment.
