• Zinc Borate is an efficient flame retardant in many polymers: In halogen free systems, zinc borates can be used either alone or in combination with other flame retardants such as metal hydroxides (ATH, MDH), phosphorus, and silicone It is extensively used in plastics, rubbers and coatings.
With superior thermal stability, it releases hydration water beyond 290°C. It also acts as an ideal synergist to improve the efficiency of other flame retardants, and is commonly utilized for wood preservation and ceramic flux production.
